Here we offer one to one tuition on many subjects. This class is especially useful for getting to know your own sewing machine or overlocker.

Using modern machines and equipment, patchwork and quilting has never been so easy. We will cover various techniques which will be ideal for those who have never tried piecing or quilting to make a block which can be used to make a bag, a cushion cover, or we can really go for it and plan a quilt.

Learn the basic skills of cutting out a pattern, putting in zips, pockets etc. Our tutors will advise you on pattern and fabric. Our weekly dressmaking classes run throughout the year and you may join at anytime. We have machines and overlockers in the shop that you may use or if you would prefer to bring your own to use you may.

On this course you will learn the basic heirloom stitches and techniques such as puffing, lace insertion, twin needle and traditional pin tucks to produce a beautiful heirloom bolster pillow.

On this one day course you will learn how to do French heirloom – pin tucks, puffing, lace insertion, entredeux, two colour embroidery etc. You will use twin needles and wing needles to create wonderful effects. The sample you create can then be used to make cushions, bags, quilts or christening gowns.
